Hello! My name is Daniel Purtha, and I have worked in the architecture industry for nearly a decade, making my way from BIM modeler to architectural designer, job captain, and design associate. During this time, I obtained a macro-scale overview of architectural, interior, and urban design project types, along with several independent research projects. Through these experiences, I’ve developed a deep passion for observing how people engage with their environment. Seeing the spectrum of positive and negative experiences in both built and natural environments, along with studying and researching the “why”, sparked a desire to help create spaces that use this data, resulting in evidence-based, conscious spaces.

Synthesizing my neuroscience research with my observations of people in their environments, I have developed a neurological framework for designers, developers, and others interested in learning more about their spaces. Combined with my passion for visualization, this process adds immense value to a project and spaces that are holistically healthier by design for the end user.

Designing and using spaces that were clearly designed solely to meet ADA requirements is frustrating for most users, including myself. I decided this wasn’t enough anymore; we need to ensure everyone has equitable access to a positive neurological experience with their environment, whether that’s in their apartment in a multi-use building, their local retail shop, or traversing their neighborhood streets.

Additionally, I have a deep understanding of Revit, having spent time contracting with firms to enact standards of practice and design guidelines. I also have extensive knowledge of Enscape and TwinMotion visualization tools, putting me in the perfect position to provide consulting and/or providing assistance when production times run short. Which, let’s be honest, is every project.

When not reading textbooks or white papers, I’m a baker who also likes to cook, play saxophone and clarinet in a jazz band, and can be found walking trails in the woods with my dog.

Thank you - I look forward to speaking with you soon!

Let's chat!

I'd love to hear about the projects you're working on and how we can create additional value to them!
